Double Post

Image
Hey everyone, it's me again! Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I HAVE been doing designs, I promise! So instead of the usual type of posting, I'm going to post the last 2 designs I did! First up is this old-school comic book inspired design. Using a nice purple holo for the main color, and a VERY pale purple for the stamping, I LOVE how these turned out! I'd probably still be wearing them if the tips hadn't chipped on me. I used Maniology's Rebel Yell kit for the stamped images. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE them! Next is the design I just did this morning for a butterfly collaboration project on Instagram. I used a silver holo base color, then put on a VERY sheer pink shimmer over that, and used a green holo for the tips. The pink butterflies and gold flower are stickers from my pink tier gift from Maniology. The picture just does NOT do them justice! I have to have them in direct light to see the pink shimmer and the rainbows from the holo. They'r

Hey everyone, it's me again! Yes, my nails are short. My pointer fingernail decided to break while I was sleeping last night, and it would've looked REALLY funny having one short and 3 long nails, so I trimmed and filed the rest to match. Luckily, we eat a protein-rich diet, and I take biotin supplements, so they should be back to a decent length rather quickly. But...long or short, I still gotta do nail art!! Feathers Challenge

Image
Hey everyone! This is my 2nd entry into the challenge/giveaway. Prompt was "feathers". I absolutely LOVE how this looks, especially the holo gradient! I'm sure a lot of you have noticed that I use a lot of the same companies' stuff. Yeah...I have a bit of loyalty to them...and can't really afford indie brands yet lol. Anyway, I hope you enjoy!! Sharptooth!!

Image
Hey everyone, it's me again! So the theme for the April Mani x Me box from Maniology is dinosaurs. I've seen a LOT of manis using it, but they all seemed to have one thing in common: they all used the "nice" dinos. I wanted to be different...of course...so I went with the apex predator...the Tyrannosaurus Rex. I absolutely LOVE how these turned out...which is a good thing, because the bursitis in my right elbow has been letting me know I've done WAY too much nail art lately lol. Hope you like them as much as I do!! Phantom Stamping

Image
Hey everyone, it's me again!! So yesterday I received some gel polishes that I'd ordered from Amazon, and I simply could NOT wait to use some of them!! I know I just started using gel polish, but OMG I love it!! And of course I had to stamp over it. I'm calling it "phantom stamping", because it can be a bit difficult to see unless my hands are in just the "right" lighting (compare my pointer to my pinky in the pic....). I am SO in love. Need to get some more.... Black and White Challenge

Image
Hey everyone, it's me again! So I did this design for a nail challenge/giveaway (every part of the challenge is an entry into the giveaway). My pointer finger smudged some, even with the no-smudge top coat, but that was 100% MY FAULT. I didn't wait quite long enough for the white to dry before I applied it. Yes, I could've just redone it, but I decided to keep it and post it as a reminder to myself to have more patience, and to show that NO ONE is perfect. I can guarantee that even people who've been at this for years as opposed to my 11 months still make mistakes from time to time. We're only human, after all. It happens, and the design still looks cute. Lily on a Trellis

Image
Hey everyone, it's me again! Decided to do another layered stamping design, this time using my favorite flower, a lily! And I absolutely LOVE the way it looks over the white lines design. Reminds me of a garden trellis. Just did the dots on the other nails for something extra, along with the metal studs. All in all, I love how this design looks, and I hope you do too! Autism Awareness

Image
Hey everyone, it's me again! April is Autism Awareness Month, and in honor of EVERYONE on the spectrum, and especially my sweet nephew Tyler, I had to do this design. For those of us with a loved one on the autism spectrum, awareness goes FAR beyond April. It's every single day. Autism parents/caretakers/guardians fight constantly for them. Autism warriors are all around the world, and they will never stop fighting. Autism means many different things to different people, and I wanted to share what it is to me. This is something I wrote 5 years ago: T o me, Autism means seeing the world in a completely different way than most people. It means seeing people in a totally different light. It's seeing everything good in the world that's hidden from others. It means not being able to deal with some things that other people don't think twice about. It's also watching a little boy love everyone around him, and get his heart broken multiple times when some of tho

Layered Iris

Image
Hey everyone, it's me again! So I decided to try layered stamping for the first time, and while it didn't come out perfect, I still LOVE how it looks! Decided to go with some negative space...sorta. I have a holo top coat on it instead of just leaving them bare, and I also decided to use my multichrome polish that I haven't used in....FOREVER. The green to purple shift is PERFECT with the purple & white iris flower, and the aurora borealis rhinestones. All in all, I just really love how this design looks. Hope you all do too!! Purple Bows

Image
Hey everyone, it's me!  Bows, purple, bling, iridescent, and holo. What more does a girl need?  I LOVE how this design looks, and the picture just does NOT do it justice. I got some nail vinyls/stencils from the What's Up Nails store a few weeks ago, and decided to try the bows out today. And of COURSE I had to include some holo and some bling! I figured the iridescent shimmer from Maniology would be the perfect touch, and I was right! There's so much shimmer and color-shifting to this design that it's hard to know what point to focus on lol. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do!! So I decided to try something new with my products used list...of course I'll have the list, but I'm going to put a picture before it showing everything first. Let me know what you think, and if I should continue doing it or not. Harry Potter Houses

Image
Hey everyone, it's me! So I ordered a set of 4 stamping plates from Beauty Bigbang off Amazon, and when I saw the plate with different plaid designs, I KNEW I absolutely had to do the house colors from Harry Potter. The Ravenclaw messed up a tiny bit, but I still absolutely LOVE how these turned out!! And of course I had to grab my Hermione's wand and Time Turner necklaces for the picture. The Hufflepuff yellow isn't quite as vibrant as I'd like, but what can you do? You work with what you've got. Btw, Ravenclaw for life here!! Hope you all like them! Women's Empowerment

Image
Hey everyone, it's me again! So...March is Women's Empowerment Month, and Maniology of course made a pair of plates to celebrate it! As a company who donates 10% of their Mani x Me proceeds to the YMCA of O'ahu, this plate set means a LOT to them...and to me as a woman. I ordered them as soon as I could, and they came yesterday. So as much as I enjoyed the daisies, I HAD to use these plates!! Combined with the plate I got from Born Pretty Store, I think this is an AMAZING design that I'm going to enjoy for a few days! Daisy, Daisy....

Image
Hey everyone! So I wanted to do something simple, but still spring-ish. I love daisies, they're definitely in my top 5 favorite flowers, and they're SO easy to do on nails with just a dotting tool! I love the contrast of the gray, and LOVE how they look matte. And of course I had to have some bling on there! The yellow rhinestones make the perfect centers for the little daisies, don't you think? Anyway, I think these are simply adorable! I hope they last for a few days...I don't really have a good track record with matte designs lol. Anti-St. Patrick's Day

Image
Hey everyone, it's me again! This post might be a little controversial, but it's part of who I am. So, St. Patrick's Day is in 2 days, and most people happily celebrate the man who "drove the snakes out of Ireland". I, and many other Pagans, do not. What many people don't know is...there were most likely never any snakes in Ireland!! The "snakes" that St. Patrick drove out were Pagans. He brought Christianity to Ireland. So, I "celebrate" that day with snakes, showing that I am a proud Pagan...who happens to have a lot of Irish ancestry. Negative Chevron

Image
Hey everyone! So it's getting close to St Patrick's Day. Figured I'd go ahead and toss some green on my nails. Don't worry, I'll have a different, better design for that day...if the vinyls I ordered get here in time, that is. I'm not sure gold was a good choice for the dots in the negative space, considering my golden olive skin tone, but...I still like them. And I need to get a bit better with my dotting skills. Birthday Girl!

Image
Hey everyone, it's me again! So my birthday is tomorrow (March 11), and I'll be 38 years old. I HAD to do a special mani for it! Since one of my nicknames is Princess (from the hubby), and it's in my nail account name, I had to do the rhinestone tiara, and pink & black are my FAVORITE colors. I didn't intend for it to be metallic, or glossy, but the only pastel pink I have just didn't look right as a base coat, so...I adapted. I was also going to do one nail totally glitter, but silly me used a regular base coat instead of peel off...oops lol. I still love how they look!! Hope you all enjoy, and have a wonderful day! Hey everyone, it's me again! Wow, only 4 days till my 38th birthday! So I got tired of the Northern Lights mani rather fast. I loved it, don't get me wrong. It just...only worked for a couple days. So, in the time between it and my birthday mani (I'll be doing that on the 10th, keep your eyes peeled!), I wanted something I would love to look at, so...of course, HOLO! And bling! Hey everyone, it's me again! So we have a whole new round of Glam Nails Challenges. I skipped the first one for March, but this one was Northern Lights. Of course I had to use my Mani x Me stamping plate from January, with an array of Maniology stamping plates, and I just HAD to use my Northern Lights holo top coat!! Sunset Flight

Image
Hey everyone, it's me again! I love this stamping plate from Born Pretty so much! I had to use it again, and this time I used two images from it. I originally started off with a bronzish-gold color as the base, but that didn't work, so I went with a soft lilac. The bird was just BEGGING for a sunset behind it, so I used different colors to create it. Then (of course) I had to add some rhinestones to simulate stars/the moon/sun. All in all, I LOVE how this turned out! I think I'll be using this plate a LOT in the future! Hey everyone, it's me again! So after waiting a month, I FINALLY got my order from Born Pretty, and of course I had to use some of it RIGHT AWAY. I absolutely love butterflies, so I had to use them for this mani! I love how it turned out! My only problem is that I have such a massive C-curve that the butterflies won't lay flat on my index and pinky fingers, but...meh. They're HOLO!!! Hope you enjoy!! Hey everyone! Sadly, about an hour after yesterday's post went up...I popped a peelie. That's what happens when you don't top coat properly!! Ah well. I had SO much fun making this design!! I still can't quite figure out if I'm getting more of an 80's or a 90's vibe from it, I just know I LOVE it!! And of course, I had to include holo and bling! Negative Holo Space

Image
Hey everyone, it's me! So this Glam Nails Challenge was "geometric". I looked at literally DOZENS of designs for inspiration, then came up with this idea. Normally I'm not big on negative space, but using a holo top coat in the negative space made me like it more, and the addition of the studs made me LOVE it. Sadly, it probably won't last long, as the studs just will NOT lay flat on my fingers. *sighs* Darn C-curve of my nails (seriously, they are MEGA curved lol). Anyway, hope you enjoy!! Holo Gradient

Image
Hi everyone, it's me again! So one of the ladies in a Facebook group I'm in did a holo gradient, and it inspired me to get more holo and try one of my own. So yesterday when we went for our bi-weekly grocery shopping trip, I (of course) went to the nail polish section of Walmart and grabbed some more silver holo because I was low, and decided to give the blue holo a try. I hadn't gotten anything besides the silver, black, and gold before because in the bottle the holo just seemed too muted...but WOW!! On my nails, in direct light...OMG the rainbow!! SO intense!! I'm so getting the red & purple if Walmart has them on March 8 when we go back. I wish I could get a GOOD pic that shows the intensity of the holo. I LOVE Color Club, and want more. Their holo, their thermals...I wanna try their water colors...all of it! And OF COURSE...I gotta have a little bling. I hope you enjoy this as much as I do! Hey everyone it's me again. So this Glam Nails Challenge was "Unicorn"...I was gonna just use my vinyls from TwinkledT, but then decided instead to pay tribute to my absolute FAVORITE unicorn of all time, Rarity from My Little Pony!! I am NO GOOD at freehanding, but decided to do it anyway. Valentine's Collab

Image
Hey everyone...double post day!! I actually did these like 8 days ago, but they were part of a Valentine's collab project on Instagram, so I couldn't show them till now! I don't remember everything I used, so I won't be posting the usual links, but I just wanted to show these off, because I LOVE how they turned out! The plain red with rhinestones on my pointer finger was lovely & I LOVE the stamping job on the middle finger with the red over the holo. I decided to do just a plain heart with a rhinestone over holo on my ring finger, and plain red with a scattered holo topcoat on my pinky. All in all, I adored these nails!!! Hope you like them!!

Dark but Classy

Image
Hey everyone, it's me again. Now that Valentine's Day is over, I thought I'd go back to a dark, but classy look. I hate that you can't see the holo that well, but...I'm gonna have to get a better camera for that. It looks WAY better in person. I got a 20 for $20 Mystery Bundle from Maniology, and decided to use some of the vinyls for my middle nails. I seriously can't say enough good about this company. If you're new to nail art, they are THE place to start. Great prices, great quality, and AMAZING customer service. And of course, I'm so addicted to the Color Club holo collection. Kirigami Flowers

Image
Hey everyone, it's me again. So the other day I got the February Mani x Me box from Maniology. It has some NICE images on the stamping plates, I tell you. Inspired by kirigami , the Japanese art of paper cutting, the images are just amazing. I kept it simple with flowers and one of the border designs, over a red glitter background. One thing I really love about the Mani x Me subscription is that, while they eventually release the 2 polishes & the gift to the public, the 2 stamping plates each month are EXCLUSIVE to the ones who subscribe to the box. I have yet to be disappointed in any of the boxes I've received. And of course...I had to add a bit of bling. Seems to be becoming my signature. I just love that little extra something that rhinestones give to my designs. I hope you enjoy this design as much as I do!! Hearts Challenge

Hey everybody, it's me again. So there's a "Glam Nails Challenge" on Instagram that I sometimes take part in. It's fun, and it allows me to push myself in my art. Tomorrow's challenge is "Hearts", so I came up with this design. I used vinyls to make the zigzag and chevron stripes, then I stamped the hearts on. Pink Heart Valentine's Nails

Image
Hey everyone, it's me again. I actually spent over an hour debating with myself about this design, but decided to post it to show that not everything is perfect in my eyes. So a couple weeks or so ago I got some holo glitter from TwinkledT, and have been wanting to use it. Don't get me wrong, I LOOOOOVE the glitter. I just don't like how THICK the design is on my ring finger. And though you can barely see it in this picture, the stamping design on my ring finger is a bit smeared...and the stamping polish is darker than shown. And last but not least, the pink is like...4 years old. All in all, it's a great design in theory, but in practice...I'm just not sure about it. And I kid you not, as I was typing this, I got an itch and popped a peelie (I used peel-off base coat)...so I guess that makes up my mind lol. This might be a double post day! Anyway... Hey everyone, it's me again. And this is the first of probably MANY Valentines/love-themed manis this month. Gonna be seeing a lot of reds & pinks on my nails, as well as a lot of hearts! This was my first time trying out the Sally Hansen collab polishes with Crayola, and OMG I love it! I have the Bittersweet Shimmer color, which is a LOVELY red with silver shimmer (hard to see the shimmer, especially with the holo topcoat, but I promise it's there!). Because my nails are so long, it did take 2 coats, but those with shorter nails can probably get away with only 1 coat. And of course I had to stamp a heart, but chose to only have it on my accent nail. Yes, I use my middle finger instead of the more popular ring finger as accent. And, of course I had to add a little bling :) Hope you like it! New Design

So I got bored yesterday and decided to do a new design. I love how it turned out! My husband actually helped me a little bit, by choosing the stamping design from 2 I showed Him, and choosing the stamping polish out of a selection of 4 I offered Him. I think He made some great choices! I just really wish I had a better camera and better lighting to show off the holo better. Sigh...one day. Everyone starts somewhere, right? Of course I started with my base coat, which is Pro-FX Sticky Base Coat. I got it at Walmart. For the base color I used Color Club's Mood Changing Thermal Nail Polish in Total Meltdown...which is apparently no longer available, darn it. It is a stunning pink-to-purple changing matte polish. When it's warm, it's a vibrant fuchsia pink, and when cold is a gorgeous deep purple. Topping that is China Glaze's Fairy Dust holo top coat. It's a wonderful holo top coat, that while it packs a lot of holo into one coat, still doesn't overwhelm the

Hello February! And BIG NEWS!!!

Hey everyone! It's me again. Wow, February already. 2019 is flying by. Anyway, time for my first mani design of the month, and stay tuned for some BIG NEWS. Those on my Facebook have probably seen it already, but I'm putting it here too! So anyone that really follows my art so far, especially on Instagram, pretty much knows I'm an absolute Maniology ADDICT. I totally LOVE all their products!! Most of my stamping stuff is from them, as well as other things. They have GREAT customer service, the quality of their products is outstanding, and hey, they give you FREE CANDY with pretty much every order! Yep...pineapple gummies. My husband LOVES those lol. Anyway, this design is using pretty much nothing but their stuff, minus the base coat and final top coat. First up, here's the final design: Isn't it just FABULOUS? I love nail stamping, and I always get a good, crisp image with Maniology plates & stamping polishes. And a huge shout out and thanks to my
